In the Community
JLGS is a non-profit organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism and to improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. For nearly 100 years, JLGS has contributed more than $1 million dollars and countless volunteer hours to numerous worthwhile service projects in Western Massachusetts, including the founding of the Ronald McDonald House and the Springfield Day Nursery (now Square One) . Many of the projects organized, developed, and implemented by the League have gone on to become essential to the lives of people in our community.
JLGS COVID-19 Response
The Junior League of Greater Springfield has been working hard to serve our community during this trying time. Since the onset of this global pandemic, JLGS has offered services including: providing dinners & essential items to the guests at the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, donating over 200 personal hygiene bags to our community partners, and collecting a number of personal items for families in crisis.
We continue to work closely with community partners to address specific needs.
At this time, we are collecting donations of:
1. Diapers
2. Wipes (baby wipes & general sanitary wipes)
3. Gift cards to: Walmart, Target, Grocery Stores, Netflix, Hulu, Spotify
4. Puzzles and Games for pre-teens and teenagers
5. Greeting cards
6. Childrens books (ages 0-16)
We are happy to arrange contactless pick ups! Please send us an email at JLGS.Membership@gmail.com

Done-In-A-Day
Done-in-a-day (DIAD) is a series of concentrated projects that provide assistance to non-profit agencies by offering volunteers for community-based events. Junior League volunteers provide support at a variety of events including pledge drives, food bank distribution, diaper drives and holiday parties, just to name a few areas of assistance.
